Hosted by the Houston Film Critics Society as they present the film's director with the 2004 Texas Independent Film Award.
Back by popular demand, “Runaway Radio” has its first scheduled screening of the year at Houston’s iconic River Oaks Theatre on October 1, 2025, at 7:15 pm with the reunited Jennifer Reyna and Outlaw Dave.
Reyna now serves as the KHOU 11 Houston morning traffic anchor, and Outlaw Dave is the morning show host for Houston’s Eagle 106.9 and 107.5 KHPT/KGLK. Reyna became a fixture on Outlaw Dave’s 101 KLOL afternoon show, with both appearing in “Runaway Radio.”
Michael Garfield, “The High Tech Texan,” returns as event host.
A legendary Houston, Texas rock radio station broke new records, defined the culture, attracted top music artists all while whipping listeners into a frenzy. Like an out-of-control locomotive, 101 KLOL seemed unstoppable until the government stepped in. What happened to straight ahead rock radio? Lyle Lovett, ZZ Top’s Dusty Hill, Melissa Etheridge, Sammy Hagar, King's X's Dug Pinnick and legendary drummer Carmine Appice, along with top DJs from across the US, reflect on how radio changed their lives, and why it’s now hard to find rock on the FM dial.
